Jason Oshiro

Minister

Aloha and welcome to Converge! A tight knit community of fragmented lives, looking to have God's light shine through us all. We believe, that together we can become a beautiful mosaic for the world to see.

My name is Jason and I've been here for the past 8 years!

I'm a graduate of Roosevelt High School and the English minister here at Converge.

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be natto, rice, an ice cold Coke and episodes of Bull. What I'd really like though, is to treat myself (or be treated) to the tasting course at Akira Japanese Restaurant!

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, I'd recommend you check out Kailua town, and spend some time at Lanikai beach!

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet John the Baptist because I've been so ministered to by his heart, faithfulness, and authenticity.

🤙🤙

Allison

Director of Leadership Development

Welcome to Converge! We're a small community of imperfect people striving to follow a perfect God. We're so happy you have joined us on this journey.

My name is Alli and I've been here for the past 8 years!

I'm a graduate of Punahou School. I am currently working as Senior Administrative Coordinator at Kamehameha Schools.

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be natto and rice! Throughout the pandemic, I enjoyed going on walks while listening to books on audible... and taking care of my Sawado (sourdough starter)... With restaurants slowly re-opening, what I would really like to treat myself (or be treated) to, is a nice sushi omakase from Akira Japanese Restaurant!

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, I'd recommend you do the Kokohead hike at 5am to see the sunrise! If you're not into hikes, I recommend driving out to the North Shore for garlic shrimp and shave ice.

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet Mary (Jesus' mother) because I'd like to know what it was like raising the Son of God.

✌️✌️

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be rice! That and some Clone Wars... But what I would really like to treat myself (or be treated) to, is a nice juicy cheeseburger from Teddy's Bigger Burgers, or The Counter!

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, definitely catch the sunset at Ko'olina.

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet Joseph, son of Jacob. I think he would say "you got this! cuz God got you!"

🤙🤙

Enze

Creative Arts Director

Welcome to Converge! I would love to get to know you via coffee or pickleball!

My name is Enze and I've been here for the past 17 years!

I'm a graduate of Iolani School and currently a student at John A. Burns School of Medicine (JABSOM).

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be coffee! Yes, coffee :) That and playing some pickleball (while bring socially distant). Yes, pickleball :) Haven't heard of this wonderful sport? I'd love to tell you more about it over a socially distant cup of coffee ;) Though restaurants are beginning to re-open, I'll say "nothing like a good, home-cooked meal!"

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, it would be to get poke! There's a really good poke shop that we featured on Converge TV, and it's right next to a Starbucks!

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet James. I think his perspective of being the brother of Jesus is so cool!!

Doris & Sandy

Heads of Fashion & Design

Hello there, welcome to Converge. Our church might seem small but the sense of family runs deep.

My name is Sandy and I’ve been here for the past 21 years!

I’m a graduate of Moanalua High School. I am currently working as a Graphic Designer and Project Assistant at Center on the Family.

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be bread, (and yes I can confirm this to be true). I’ve been rewatching episodes of Yumeiro Pâtisserie lately and it really makes me wanna bake! What I would really like to treat myself (or be treated) to, is a prosciutto arugula pizza from Rigo Hawaii, I love Italian food!

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, it would be shopping/exploring the local art culture at South Shore Market and the general Kaka‘ako area!

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet Moses because of his experiences as a leader, despite his weaknesses. God uses the willing!

Brandon

Welcome to Converge! We are a loving community, and would love to welcome more people, including you!

My name is Brandon, and I've been here for the past 20 years!

I'm a graduate of Punahou School and currently a student at Yale University.

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be white rice. That and going on some hikes. But what I would really like to treat myself (or be treated) to, is Agu Ramen, but they closed down :( now I like Panda Express and their fortune cookies.

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, it would be Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden.

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet Paul because he was able to change his life and also the lives of many others.

Kai Le

Videographer

Aloha! We are Converge- a small yet ever-growing community of people that can’t wait to have you!

My name is Kai Le, and I've been here for the past 21 years!

I'm a graduate of ‘Iolani School and am currently an undergraduate student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida.

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be spicy ahi poke over white rice. That watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine and make videos. But what I would really like to treat myself (or be treated) to, is Da Cove Health Bar. In my opinion, they have the best açaí bowls on the island.

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, it would be Ala Moana Shopping Center. Honestly, locals take it for granted but there’s nowhere else like it in the whole world. Definitely go to Nordstrom’s Gelato Bar; the place smells so good.

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet Job. I believe that his humility and trust in God’s wisdom is something that modern society needs to learn and embrace.

Eleanor

He Brews Coffee - Head of Operations

Welcome to Converge! We hope you enjoy our community centered around serving God. When we finally open our doors in real life, feel free to have your first coffee bar drink on us! (Don’t worry, we have more than just coffee). If you have any questions, ask me, or really anyone attending service, and hopefully we can point you in the right direction! Can’t wait to continue this journey of faith with you.

My name is Eleanor and I've been here for the past 23 years!

I'm a graduate of Kaiser High School. I am currently a student at UH Manoa, studying Environmental Science and Economics.

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be fried rice! Throughout the pandemic, I’ve been sleeping in a lot and cooking a bit again... I also enjoy any cheesy romcom Chinese Drama I can find on Youtube or Netflix. I also enjoy watching Monk, The Office, and Parks & Rec. As for favorite foods, ice cream, pasta, fried rice, waffles, and milk tea. Just not at the same time, that might taste a little bad.

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, I'd recommend you take a hike. Sorry, that sounds really bad, I recommend you go on one of the many beautiful hikes around our island!

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet Thomas. I would like to hear his thoughts—after following Jesus for so long, he had a very famous moment of doubt. I would like to hear if he had a chance to redo his response to Jesus resurrecting, what would he say instead?

Charissa

Behind the Scenes Coordinator

Hello!! I’m so glad you're here! Having a community that you can turn to in both good and bad times is essential (especially these days), and we at Converge would love to be that for you. 💛

My name is Charissa, and I’ve been here for the past 25 years!

I’m a graduate of Mid-Pacific Institute and am currently working as a Medical Assistant.

If there was one food I had to eat everyday through a global pandemic, it would be noodles 🍜. I also enjoy treating myself (or being treated) to the 水煮魚片 from Chengdu Taste or the ahi brioche from Senia. The pandemic has given me time to pursue hobbies other than eating, like playing Secret Hitler and Jackbox games with friends, trying out new recipes, and persevering through barre classes.

If you're not from here, and I was to recommend one place for you to visit, it would be the Makapu’u tide pools. I haven't been there yet, but the pictures are really pretty, and it's definitely on my bucket list! Don't forget to grab brunch at the KCC Farmer's Market afterward. 😋

From paradise to heaven, I'd personally like to meet Solomon because he probably gives good advice.
